I'm Heba Kalakeche; speech & language pathologist, parent coach & mom of two.
I am a Lebanese-Canadian mom of two. I have been working as a certified speech and language pathologist since 2012 in Montreal, Canada. I speak English & French, while proudly maintaining my mother tongue, Arabic, at home with my daughters. My love for languages has also driven me to learn Spanish. In the rush of working motherhood, I like to find and share tricks to transform everyday tasks into connection moments with my kids in my native language. I love to expand my knowledge about childhood development and parenting, so I can better connect with them.
A little about my work…
I love to see the wonder in the eyes of children as they learn and grow, and even more so, the amazement in the eyes of their parents as they see their child develop new abilities. For over 10 years now, I have been helping children and their families thrive while facing speech and language difficulties. My area of expertise is prevention, early intervention and multilingualism. I have worked in private with clients and in many daycares, assessing children and guiding educators.
After the pandemic, I started coaching parents online and quickly realized how many were looking for strategies to help their children develop their language abilities to their full potential. So, I created
Les Kids’ Kalam: a trilingual French-English-Arabic platform that offers information about bilingual language development as well as everyday practical advice for language stimulation.
